Second rice give away
amid the pandemic!

We just had our second rice giveaway to one of the depressed communities that are not far from us. Thank you for your generous giving that made this possible!

1. We started with buying 21 – 50 kilo bags of rice. That’s over 2,300 pounds total! Then we took them home and broke them down into 105 –10 kilo bags (aprox 22 lbs each) to give away to 105 families in need.

2. Even little Wyatt had wanted to get involved with the process! Though it took most of the day, it seemed to go smoother than last month. We were able to streamline it somewhat since it was our second time around!

3. Now all the bags were loaded into the truck ready to head out to the depressed area we were going to focus on this time. Calli had to stay home with Wyatt because children aren’t allowed to get out right now except for emergencies.

4. When we arrived we were welcomed with a sign and lots of smiles. Tony is here above with Boyet (in red) he’s been our welder on the mission center (We nicknamed him Michael Angelo because he is so talented and creative.) He was our contact into this neighborhood and got us connected with Rodel Digno (on the right) He is the vice president of this community, Digno Compound.

5. Pastor Tony first brought all the people that had gathered together and gave a short message and led all of them to the Lord that hadn’t yet received Jesus. We had nearly a hundred people pray to receive the Lord Jesus into their hearts.

6. Then straight away we began to pass out all the bags of rice. Boyet had worked with the community and made sure everyone had a claim ticket ahead of time so it all went smoothly. Everyone was happy and no one was left out! They kept coming up to me after the short service and during the rice give away and thanking us for coming and sharing. It’s really good that they were appreciative of receiving Jesus along with being given the rice! Praise the Lord! It really warms our hearts to see the look in their faces, it always gets me!

Thank you for sharing!

Those of you that sowed the funds to do this rice give away share in the salvation of all the lost that received the Lord. Close to a hundred were saved. What a way to spend Sunday morning! Thank you all so much from those that received the Lord and those that received some much needed food. That’s over 20lbs of rice per family! When you see these very poor senior citizens come up and take a bag, it puts tears in your eyes.

We are going to continue to do these giveaways as long as there is money to do it. This area has another 300 families we need to get to.and it takes nearly a thousand dollars to buy the rice and the bags to put the rice in. We save some by buying in bulk and breaking it down. We would like to have enough money to buy a few cans of tuna and sardines for the families to go with the rice, but we haven’t yet received enough to do that. To remind y’all these families have been in quarantine for almost four months, some have finally been able to go back to work, but the majority don’t have jobs and it’s hard to get clearance, so they are really struggling.

For those of you that give a gift of $500 or more we are sending you a portrait of Jesus that my daughter Felicity had drawn before she was killed in the fire in Feb. 2016. The full story of those miracle prints is on our website at www.dunamisinternational.org under the June 2020 newsletter. Please read it if you’re interested in receiving one of those precious prints. It really was a miracle that they survived the fire, just burned around the edges. Y’all not everyone can give $500 or more but whatever you give, God will multiply it back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. But the big bang is the blessing of being a part of 100 or so newly born again souls and the awesome impact of feeding God’s people out of the abundance God has given you. What a wonderful blessing it is! Thank you all for making it possible for us to continue to reach the lost and the desperate and hungry people here in the Philippines!

Changing of the guards!

As we informed you in the last online newsletter, Johnny and Sherry Taylor, who have been faithfully helping us handle our U.S. office for the last two and a half years, are starting a new chapter in their lives. They are trimming down and going to be doing more travelling and had to step down from handling our office in Amarillo. We thank them so much for all their help and service! We will greatly miss them, but at the same time we are so excited about the new adventure they are embarking on. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Johnny and Sherry. We love you so much!

As we said, when one door closes the Lord always opens a new one! So we are happy to introduce you to another one of our partners, Buffy Reitz. She has volunteered to take over the U.S. office for us. Please join us in asking the Lord to richly bless her time and effort as she assumes this responsibility. May it always be a blessing and joy in her life to help us keep in touch with you all, our friends and partners! Thank you, Buffy for hearing and following the call of the Lord to step into this much needed role. God is so good!

Big blessings with abundance for every good work! Tony and Calli
