Tony Wreck

Left: Normal Manila traffic with our ever present Jeepneys. Right: Actual photo after Tony’s accident of him on the sidewalk, surrounded by bystanders, awaiting the arrival of the ambulance. A young man that works at the McDonald’s where Tony goes for coffee quite often, saw this picture his friend had taken at the scene and recognized Tony. He just shared it with him this morning!

Pastor Tony taken by Ambulance to Hospital
After motorcycle accident!

Please pray for Pastor Tony, he was injured in motorcycle wreck on Sunday afternoon on the 4th of February. A public transportation Jeepney pulled in front of him on Zapote Road. When he hit his brakes the tires could not grip and stop because the road had sand and light gravel in that spot. The cycle slid out from under him and he flew through the air into the large gutter curb on the side of the road where he hit with blunt force on his side just above the pelvis and close to the kidney. (Curbs here are taller and have a much sharper right angle than the curved ones we were used to in the US.) The force was so hard he could not move or get up.

As he lay there in the sun there were people all around him and some of the older ladies tried to fan him keep the flies away. An officer held an umbrella over him while they waited for an ambulance. He said that he thought his injuries were serious because when he tried to move it was like fire on his side where he hit.

When they got him to the hospital they did x-rays and an ultra sound and determined that there were no injuries to internal organs or broken bones, Praise God! His doctor was astonished knowing the type of accident he had experienced and with that amount of force that his injuries were limited to his muscles. We are so thankful that the Lord protected him, it could have been so much worse.

Of all days, he had forgotten his phone at home and could not contact any of us. So I was only informed hours later when the police came to our door and told us he had been taken to the hospital. They were only able to tell me he was conscious and thought he would be OK. As I was heading to the hospital the Lord assured me it would all be alright.

He has been in a lot of pain during this time of recuperating, but his body is healing and is getting stronger every day. The staff is conducting the next three seminars on their own. Tony could not handle the lengthy traveling quite yet. But he will be back at it soon!

Thank you for you continued prayers! Love you, Calli

Sharing the Gospel with a young lady in Zamboanga City

Batch 1804 – Zamboanga City
February 7, 8 and 9

Dunamis held this seminar in Zamboanga City on the Zamboanga Peninsula in the Philippines. Zamboanga City has a population of 861,799 people. It is the 6th most populous city in the Philippines and the 2nd most populous in Mindanao after Davao City and is the commercial and industrial center of the region.

This batch had 18 graduates, 11 of which are pastors and won close to 700 new souls to the Lord. 60% of these new believers were Muslims. One of which had an instant healing, and another Muslim expressed a desire to attend the church service. Three of the pastors averred that they used to have a lifestyle of evangelism but for many reasons, it started fading away until completely gone as they were busy with so many programs/activities. The seminar played a very significant role in reviving their passion for lost souls and once again taking the Great Commission as a serious responsibility. Pastor Ronald, as he was filling up the application admission form, was in retrospect of how he started the church with 20 persons pioneering it, and after 4 years increased the members into 50. He told himself, it was a very slow growth, averaging 7-8 new members per year. In his ambitious mind, he has written 1000 persons as new members for his vision, but realizing it was impossible to achieve at that time, he wanted to erase it and make it 100 instead. However, as he finished the class, he said that 1,000 members is easily attainable with the use of the evangelism tool he was just taught. He is excited to train his members and multiply himself!

Pastor Percy was deeply moved with the story of the “forgotten person” (persons we always meet but have omitted sharing the Gospel to). He went to a mall, Shopper’s Plaza, where he always goes and where his sister works as a supervisor. He told the staff there that he will go to hell if he doesn’t share the Gospel to them. He started with the staff and soon, he finished the whole third floor, each new believer bringing a new person to him to be shared with. He plans to win the owner also.

Witnessing to soldiers on street in Zamboanga City

Note from Pastor Tony

Zamboanga is predominately a Muslim area today because of a war that broke out there some 4 to 5 years ago. After the war, many of the Christian community fled to other regions in fear for their lives and discouraged by the war that took so many lives. Today it’s 70% or more Muslim, only 30% Christian. These pastors are a Remnant of God that will surely prevail over the enemy of the Lord. We have given them the weapon of warfare to wage the battle for men’s souls. By sowing into this ministry you have a part in this incredible battle that God is perpetrating on the kingdom of darkness. Every month sacrifice a lunch, a golf game, a movie etc. and start sowing $25.00 -$100.00 a month to make sure that we can continue this equipping of God’ s Remnant and we will win together! We will see the End Times Harvest prevail together. We will take back the land (Places like Zamboanga) for Jesus!

Love you, Tony
